Typically the Press publishes chapbooks - small collections of 30-50 pages (A5) which include either:
All poetry (approx. 15-30 poems depending on length)
Some poetry and some prose
A longer prose piece or collection of pieces (approx. 8,000 - 10,000 words)
In general I (Eleanor) look for: poetry or prose (or a hybrid mix) that defies expectations; words that tumble and twist; raw, authentic, soulful writing. Your writing does not need to be about the wild world - it can be about anything. What’s most important is that you are writing from an untamed place, unafraid to push the boundaries and explode the binaries of what we have been conditioned to believe.
I particularly welcome submissions from writers inadequately represented in UK publishing.
I welcome both previously published and unpublished writers to submit.
Please note: the Press is a small-scale, independent publisher with a sustainable, low-waste printing philosophy - it is not a press that publishes to the masses! My approach is to value the reciprocal relationship between writer and publisher, with 50% royalties and a collaborative approach throughout.
