In the Compost

£8.00

AUTHOR: CHRISTINA TRING

In The Compost muses body as nature and earth as form, playing out a reckoning of disconnect.

It is an ode to self and soil for those who hold trauma deeply in their bodies and look to the earth to seek a sense of belonging.

This poetry dissects finding our way home - in visceral, raw words pulled from the heart of decay, of the compost heap that is a lost human body in ruin.

This chapbook is part of our autumn 2024 series. Chapbooks were traditionally printed and sold between the 17th and 19th centuries and took the form of a small printed booklet, usually containing a selection of poetry or fiction. The aim was to make literature affordable and accessible. You can read more about them here. This series of feral chapbooks emerges from this older tradition, offering powerful words and untamed reflections on a range of themes.

This A5 chapbook is 48 pages, printed in the UK on 100% recycled paper using vegetable-based inks.

About the author

Christina Tring finds herself more among the wood-folk than knowing what to do with her late twenties. Beginning with books, she turned to poetry to explore her own experiences and the form lingered like an old friend. When not writing, she can be found in the woods with her dog or exploring the human connection to the natural world and the regeneration of both.

Feral words for wild souls.
